You already know that my schedule has been jam-freaking-packed since I finished backpacking but what you don’t know is that my health fell by the wayside as collateral damage…
Not good, I know.
I even got some weird fungal skin thing which still hasn’t completely healed! Obviously, I’m not posting pictures of that! So, it goes without saying, I had to implement some of my quick fixes to make sure I kick my butt into top health gear fast.
Do you do this? Is there a couple of habits that you implement that then organically lead you into being more mindful about your overall health?
If not, give some of these a go, ‘cause you really can’t afford to put your health on the back burner… EVER!
1.Wake up early
Give yourself extra time in the morning to make time for you. Not the cleaning or the kids or menial tasks – YOU! Think meditation, yoga or even just sitting still with a cup of tea will do the job. You’ll start the day on the right foot & clear you mind of anxious thoughts & fill it with positivity. My favourite is just opening up the blind & watching as it gets lighter & lighter outside – so soothing! And it only needs to be a half hour or 20 mins earlier – we can all manage that!
2. Drink a shit load more water
It’s your lifeblood! Without it you’ll shrivel up & die. Ok, ok… a little dramatic, but not too far from the truth. Make sure you’re drinking at least 2 – 3 litres of water a day. You will notice the difference in your energy levels immediately! Not to mention your skin, hair, nails & eyes!
Yes, that thing that so many people see as a waste of time. It’s NOT. What you put into your body dictates how you feel. If you want to feel good, eat things thing that are good for your body. If not, you’ll feel like the processed, nutrient deficient fast foods that you eat. It really isn’t that difficult & if you follow a simple recipe, it can actually be soothing. Check out my recipe section for some good recipes to get you started.
Think of it this way – if you make time to improve your health, you’ll be in a better position to squeeze in all that other stuff you want to do.
This quote sums it up pretty well for me: If you don’t make time for your health, you’ll be forced to make time for illness.
POW! How’s that for the truth???
Ok, guys. Enough ranting from me – how’s your week going?
